Creative Mindfulness

Mindfulness is simply the ability to be fully present and to be aware of what we are doing, what is around us, and where we are. Part of this awareness is not becoming overwhelmed or judgmental about what is happening.

Being creative, as part of a mindfulness practice, slows us down to enjoy the process. When we approach creativity with a mindful mindset, we are able to enjoy free-flowing creativity which leads to feelings of peace, joy, and comfort.

Creative mindfulness can become a full sensory experience. You'll notice what your hand is doing, what is happening around you, what you are feeling, and more. Your senses are sharp and you are aware.

Creative activities, like drawing, doodling, painting, and journaling help us to be naturally mindful.

This is a simple and effective practice that allows you to slow down. You might find it much easier than traditional meditations. Both are good for your overall well-being, relieving anxiety, improving focus and renewed happiness.

So, pay attention to what is happening and enjoy the experience!

Go release your creativity!

How to use these coloring pages...

1. Read and contemplate the questions for a few minutes before beginning to color and let your mind wander.

2. Don't put a lot of thought into what it will look like. Just move from one area to the next with whatever color you choose.

3. Take your time. It's okay if you don't finish it all. Go back later and pick up where you left off.

4. Keep the affirmation handy and use it throughout your meditation or other practices.

Tips:

1. Colored pencils or thin tip markers work best.

2. If using markers, place something under the sheet to protect your surface.
